Jack Rutberg Gallery, Letters to Los Angeles

fg 002

My birthday is in two days! I am going to celebrate all day on Thursday. I am going to breakfast at Olvera Street, take the train to San Diego to teach with Mark who is speaking on publishing at the university and we are going to go out with Katie and Ilya Kaminsky for dinner. It’s going to be awesome. And on Saturday we are having a party and Mexican food and margaritas. My daughter is making a playlist and one has to just hope that there is no, “I’ll take you to the candy shop,” on there as she or her brother? One of them had that as my ringtone when the husband called and it was most embarrassing when it went off in the classroom. That is why you should never give your kids access to your iPhone, there is no end to the tricks they can play on you.

Already for my birthday I have received roses and a rose tree and a blue sweater, purple pants and an orange skirt and a black dress in which I look sleek as a panther. In fact, when I wear it, people call me, The Panther. Wait till you see.

And Sunday, I will continue to celebrate by going out with Karen and Nicelle and then going to an amazing event at the Rutberg Art Gallery. Off to the Art Center event with John Barr and Kate Coles and Lita Albuquerque. Red Hen is rocking the world this week! And it’s my birthday week!
