The Holiday

September 12, 2009

The Holiday I got to watch this movie in my hotel, and it is really ridiculous, how could my favorite actress Kate Winslet have done this movie in which she is in love with Jack Black of all people? Jack is cute in this, but still. And Jude Law… I used to like him but then stopped when he cheated on Sienna with the babysitter. I’m really small minded about actors like that. I have not forgiven Harrison Ford for leaving his wife or Kevin Costner for leaving his wife. After that I didn’t want to see Kevin’s movies any more. I think I’ll forgive Harrison because, well he’s Han Solo. He flies the Millennium Falcon for God’s sake, I can’t be mad at him. But Jude Law, I have to think about him. Anyway, here he is getting crazy in the sack with Cameron Diaz who is about as hot as it’s legal for a female to be. But really, can Cameron act or is she just a good looking woman? I say yes, because I really loved her in Vanilla Sky. By the way, I love when Jack and Kate are in the video store and they pick up The Graduate and Jack starts singing the music and the camera pans to Dustin Hoffman who’s over there shaking his head, that’s cute. So, this is a fun movie if you are willing to abandon your brain briefly, and let’s face it, there’s nothing wrong with doing that once in a while. I know I say that I am always fully engaged in intellectual activity every second that I’m awake, but that isn’t completely true. Sometimes I’m eating breakfast, there’s nothing like strawberries and whipped cream to take your mind off any real thinking. And champagne. And movies like this one. Jude Law is eye candy. Sweet to look at, I guess I still watch him. I loved him in Closer with my man Clive Owen, and I’m not married to him. Fun movie. Makes me want to be one of these beautiful people too. Oh, and one other thing I liked. Cameron Diaz never had cried since she was fifteen. I don’t cry either. There were many years of beatings and weeping and they I woke and I was running, I was gone. It was morning and there were no more tears.

  1. You should forgive Costner, it was his wife who wanted the divorce and not because he was unfaithful!
