Ohio has been a great place and now I am off to Los Angeles. I ran 15 miles yesterday and 20 miles today, and that was quite enough running. Tomorrow I will run in L.A. Today, I gave my talk on how to get published. Writers like that talk. Then there were many individual conferences until I was dizzy. Someone kindly dropped me back here at the Yellow Springs Chalet which is where I am staying. It is a lady’s house with a little back room with a kitchenette. I neglected to get myself groceries for my little space so I was very hungry and went out for my second ten mile run of the day to stop myself from chewing off my arm. But fortunately when Rebecca gave me a ride back, she stopped at this cool sandwich shop in town. Yellow Springs is a little like Big Sur, very kick back and casual with cool shops and a bookstore. It makes me you think of the 60’s. I took a picture of a house down the street number 420 which is a lucky number (42 is the meaning of life as anyone who has read a Douglas Adams book can tell you.) and it has Tibetan Prayer Flags. Ohio has cycling trails all over from city to city, Mark would love it. It’s a lot safer to run and cycle here than in Los Angeles. Let’s face it; it’s probably safer to live here. Odd thing about Ohio children. They seem to be walking about or cycling about in the woods and on paths with their fishing poles and picnic baskets. Don’t these kids have X boxes or Nintendos? What are they doing walking around outside doing outdoor activities? CA kids seem to have permanent thumb scars. These kids are having a good time… A very American good time.
