Los Angeles THC Expo 2009
I’m still thinking about the two conventions Los Angeles hosted two weeks ago and wrapping my head around those… Erotica LA where you could go to hang out with porn stars, and the THC Expo where you could hang around with Julia Butterfly and rap stars who smoke pot. Wait a minute, you say, doesn’t Julia want to save trees? Well, yes, but also she is interested in horticulture in general as it turns out. The Erotica is what it is. I’m not even going to judge the women who work in that industry or the men who enjoy watching them. It is past my understanding how either side works. So let’s go to the other convention.
We have a whole convention around an activity that is ILLEGAL in this country. Were they having booze conventions during Prohibition? I don’t think so. On their site, they tell you that 872,720 people were arrested for pot in 2007. Oh, how terrific. Let me come to the convention then. In fact, I want to sign my name somewhere hopefully online where every single tracking agent of the federal government can note that I support legalizing marijuana. I know, you’re thinking… What about this blog? Oh, my darlings. I have published Tom Hayden, Blasé Bonpane and the late Stew Albert and the late Abbie Hoffman. They are already watching me.
My friend who went said the Erotica expo sucked because no one was really undressed enough. Porn without the porn. And what about the THC? He said the equipment for sale was fabulous, but like Erotica, it was porn without the porn… all that equipment and no pot to smoke. Let me see, that’s like having virgin margaritas. Margaritas should never be virgins. Add Anejo. Sounds fabulous.
